It's Xmas and you have $1000-2000

What do you buy for an upgrade? I am going to eliminate repairs from the equation, as we all have those and the list would be endless.

My thoughts are:
- A folding prop. About $800 for my boat.
- Self tailing winches. About $1700 for my boat.
- A bimini. However, on my boat it wouldn't cover the helm and I rarely have passengers.
- A dodger. I have a SS frame, just no canvas. However, I rarely feel like I need one, but perhaps as I plan to range up and down the coast I should invest.

How about you? Santa is listening no doubt.

If you're smart you'll spend at half that amount

on something shiny for the admiral! 'Cuz if you have that much to spend in this economy, you need to invest it, not just spend it!

hmm...

All new ports (or does that fall under repairs?) Maybe a new main. An outboard for the dinghy would be nice too.

OOOoooooo Peggy! You are probably right. Have you seen any nautical brooches? That would prevent a relationship Broach! Good call. Now lets change the rules.
Your spouse wants to give you something for the boat for Christmas (ah what a true Boat Babe!) Now what would you put on Santa dolls list?

Go for a new windless if you do not have one. It is a gift that will keep giving everytime to anchor.

My admiral really appreciates the dodger. On San Francisco Bay it makes the differance between needing foulies almost all the time and maybe just a tee shirt.

New Electronics can consume your hole budget. Remote VHF radio, GPS/Plotter, Wind instruments etc.

Hatch shade

I want an OceanAir shade/screen for my hatch in the v-berth and a whisker pole. Cockpit cushions would be nice too.
